Voter Qualifications
YOU MUST:
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Be a legal resident of Georgia and of the county in which you want to vote.
- Be 18 years old within six months after the day of registration, and must be 18 years old by Election Day.
- Not be serving a sentence for having been convicted of a felony
- Not have been judicially determined to be mentally incompetent, unless the disability has been removed
In the state of Georgia, you do not register by political party to vote in the state's regular primaries or general elections.
You may register to vote at any time, but you must be registered by the close of registration deadline prior to an election if you wish to vote on Election Day. If you are not registered to vote, register today.
- Mail a copy of the identification with your voter registration application
- Provide a copy of the proper identification to the Board of Elections and Registration office registrar during the absentee voting
If you do not have one of the six acceptable Identifications, you may be eligible to receive a Voter's Identification Card.
